Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome to my little outlet that I've created to allow me to step away from my job hunt and truly enjoy the things that I am doing here in London. I always say to myself 'I will start a blog and keep up with it'. Well, this time I mean it. It's going to be my little mental exercise everyday. Spend an hour on it and nuture it. I want to have a record of the things I have done and be able to go back and read my entries. I suppose I could start a journal which might be a little more personal but I really want a place where my friends and family can come and enjoy my random stories. Actually, I welcome anyone who wants to read this blog to get to reading and follow me on my journey.

Since moving here it's been really good but there have been some hard things about it. The best thing is of course being with my most awesome husband, Allan, second is being in this fantastic city! third, is my neighborhood and fourth, I love knowing that I can access other places in the world very easily.

The downside is the torture of trying to find a job. The economy, as we all know - whether you are here or in the U.S., is in the crapper. I really am trying not to focus on that large picture because it makes the job search that much more depressing. I am telling myself that there is something out there for me, it's just a matter of time before it lands on my doorstep. I have been busting my butt trying to find a job and something will give sooner than later. It's never easy being unemployed, especially if you really want to work. It's made even more difficult when you are in a new country and you don't really have any friends there. That is my situation. Because Allan is working during the day I am left to my own devices and find myself bored of TV and the internet. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy having a little time to myself, but I think most would agree that it's always nice to see a friendly face for a coffee, tea, lunch or just to gab. I really am not trying to be negative in the least, I am just expressing the things that I miss. I haven't been here that long and it definitely takes time to meet new people and create friendships.

Since, I don't have a friend base here, I decided that I will explore London and see the things that I've always wanted to see. I am going to be including the great things that London and the other places that I visit have to offer in this blog, along with the other terrific things that are happening in my life. Right now I am on a tight budget, so I will include fun things that won't break the bank in this ridiculously expensive city!

On a side note - I will say this, I made a new friend on Friday night. Her name is Lenna and she's a sweet lady!
